Computer Based Test (CBT) covering Professional Knowledge, English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and General Knowledge, followed by Group Discussion and/or Interview for Management Trainee posts only — Assistant Officer selection is based purely on the CBT score with no GD or interview stage.

Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR), a Navratna PSE under the Ministry of Railways, is hiring 77 Management Trainees and Assistant Officers across Commercial & Operations, Accounts, Technical, MIS, Civil, and Personnel & Administration streams. Eligibility depends on the specific post and discipline, ranging from a plain graduate degree to a professional qualification like CA, CS, or an MBA. Online applications run from 31 August 2026, 10:00 AM to 30 September 2026, 11:55 PM.

Who Should Apply

  • Management Trainee – Commercial & Operations (25 posts) — graduate (55%) plus a 2-year MBA/PG diploma in Marketing, International Business, Operations, Logistics or Supply Chain Management (60%)
  • Management Trainee – Accounts (9 posts, includes 1 Company Secretary post) — graduate (55%) plus a qualified CA, or CS for the compliance post
  • Management Trainee – Technical (4 posts) — B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics (60%)
  • Management Trainee – MIS (3 posts) — B.Tech/BE in Computer Science, or MCA/M.Sc(IT/CS), or DOEACC B Level (60%)
  • Management Trainee – Civil (2 posts) — B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (60%)
  • Management Trainee – Personnel & Administration (2 posts) — graduate (55%) plus a 2-year MBA/MSW in HRM, Personnel Management or Industrial Relations (60%)
  • Assistant Officer (32 posts across C&O, Accounts, Technical, MIS, Civil) — graduate/diploma holders (50%) with 1 to 4 years of relevant experience, depending on the post and discipline

Eligibility & Age Limit

Every post has its own exact qualification, experience, and marks requirement — Management Trainee posts need a base graduate degree plus a specific professional/PG qualification for the discipline, while Assistant Officer posts need a graduate degree or diploma plus post-specific work experience (which can be reduced if the candidate holds an additional qualification like CA-Inter, CMA-Inter, or a higher engineering degree). Where marks are given in CGPA, it must convert to at least 7 points on a 10-point scale or the prescribed percentage. Eligibility (age, qualification, experience) is reckoned as on 31 August 2026. Age limit is 18–28 years for Management Trainee and 18–32 years for Assistant Officer (unreserved category). Age relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10 years for PwBD, 3 years plus period of service for Ex-servicemen, and 5 years for departmental candidates — but the maximum age after all relaxations combined cannot exceed 50 years.

Salary & Pay Scale

Management Trainee posts carry a pay scale of ₹50,000–3%–₹1,60,000, with an approximate CTC of ₹20.11 lakh per annum. Assistant Officer posts carry ₹40,000–3%–₹1,36,000, with an approximate CTC of ₹16.09 lakh per annum. These are official CTC figures from the notification, so they already reflect a realistic total package rather than basic pay alone. Management Trainees who complete one year of training are absorbed into the Assistant Manager (E1) grade, but must first execute a service bond of ₹2 lakh plus 12% annual interest to serve CONCOR for a minimum of 3 years (excluding the training period).

How Are Candidates Selected

Computer Based Test (CBT): A 100-mark, 100-question test covering Professional Knowledge (50 marks), English Language (10), Reasoning (10), Quantitative Aptitude (15) and General Knowledge (15), in a 90-minute window (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates using a scribe). Each wrong answer costs a 0.25-mark penalty. The paper is set in English and Hindi, with English prevailing in case of discrepancy.

Group Discussion / Interview (Management Trainee only): Shortlisted MT candidates go through a GD and/or Interview, at CONCOR's discretion, after the CBT.

Assistant Officer: Selection is based purely on the CBT score — there's no GD or interview stage for this post.

Why This Job Matters

CONCOR is a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways that runs India's largest network of inland container depots and rail-based multimodal logistics. This recruitment stands out for combining a genuinely large executive-cadre intake (77 posts across 12 post codes) with an unusually detailed CTC disclosure upfront — most PSU notifications don't quote a rupee CTC figure this clearly — and Management Trainees get a defined path into the Assistant Manager grade after a structured one-year training period.

The FreshersLike Take

Best fit: A strong fit if you already hold (or are about to complete) the specific professional qualification a discipline needs — an MBA in logistics/marketing, a CA, a CS, or a relevant engineering degree — and you want a stable, well-paying PSU career with a defined training-to-promotion path.

Who should think twice: The Management Trainee posts come with a real financial catch — a ₹2 lakh service bond plus 12% annual interest if you leave before completing 3 years post-training — so don't apply for MT roles if you're not genuinely committed to staying with CONCOR for that period.

Practical tip: CONCOR does not screen your eligibility in detail before the CBT — candidature is only provisional at that stage — so read your specific post code's qualification and experience requirement in Annexure carefully before applying; if your documents don't match what you claimed at the time of verification, your candidature gets cancelled even after clearing the exam.

Documents Required

  • All educational qualification certificates and mark sheets (or provisional certificate, if in the final year/semester)
  • Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates in the prescribed format (OBC-NCL certificate not older than 1 year)
  • Disability certificate (40% or more) from the Competent Authority, for PwBD candidates
  • Income and Asset Certificate (not older than 1 year), for EWS candidates
  • Defence Service Certificate, for Ex-servicemen candidates
  • No Objection Certificate from current employer, if already employed in Government/Semi-Government/PSU/Autonomous Body
  • Notarized English/Hindi translation, if any certificate is issued in another language

What Happens After Selection

Candidates who qualify the CBT (and GD/Interview for MT posts) go through Document Verification, where original certificates for age, qualification, experience and caste are checked. This is followed by police verification, reference checks, and a Medical Fitness Test conducted by CONCOR's Medical Authorities. Selected candidates can be posted at any CONCOR office, terminal or unit in India, at the company's discretion, and are liable to be transferred anywhere afterward. Management Trainees additionally undergo one year of on-the-job and off-the-job training before being absorbed into the Assistant Manager (E1) grade.
