Bank of India has released Project No. 2026-27/02 (Notice dated 01.08.2026), inviting online applications for 205 Specialist Officer posts across 48 distinct streams, from Scale I Officer to Scale IV Chief Manager. Most posts are IT and digital-banking roles (Full-Stack Engineering, Information Security, Data Engineering, DevSecOps, and more), alongside Law Officer, Fire Officer, Security Officer, and Civil Engineer. Who Should Apply

• Chief Manager (Scale IV), 10 posts — 7 IT/digital-banking streams (Full-Stack Engineering, Digital Platforms, Trade Finance Technology, Digital Banking Operations, IT Procurement, IT with CISA/CISM/CISSP, Information Security), needing 8+ years of senior domain experience and a mandatory stream-specific certification.

Eligibility & Age Limit

Qualification for the 38 IT/digital-banking streams is B.E./B.Tech/Electronics & Communication, or a 3-year full-time MCA, or M.Sc in Computer Science/IT (with a minimum 60% marks requirement for the CISA/CISM/CISSP-qualification streams specifically). Security Officer needs a Graduate degree from a recognised University plus a minimum 3-month computer course certification or an IT-related subject at graduation level. Fire Officer needs a B.E. (Fire Engineering) from the National Fire Service College Nagpur, or an equivalent Fire/Safety Engineering degree, or a B.Sc plus a Graduate-ship in Fire Engineering (GIFE), also with the same computer-course requirement as Security Officer. Law Officer needs a Graduate degree in Law. Civil Engineer needs a B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with minimum 60% marks. If minimum 60% marks is stipulated, reserved-category candidates applying for reserved vacancies get a 5% relaxation (i.e., 55% is enough). Where your certificate shows CGPA/OGPA, you must convert it to a percentage per your university's own norms and report it to two decimals — 59.99% is treated as below 60%, not rounded up.

Age (as on 1 August 2026) varies by post: 21-30 for most Scale I posts, 22-30 for Officer-Information Security, 25-30 for Civil Engineer and Law Officer, 25-32/25-35 for most Scale II posts, 27-35 for Manager-IT (CISA/CISM/CISSP), 28-37 for most Scale III posts, 28-40 for Senior Manager-IT (CISA/CISM/CISSP), and 28-40 to 32-42 for Scale IV posts. Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10 years for PwBD, 5 years for Ex-Servicemen/ECOs/SSCOs with at least 5 years' military service, and 5 years for persons affected by the 1984 riots. SC/ST/OBC relaxation is available cumulatively with only one of the remaining categories. There is no reservation for Ex-servicemen in the Officers' Cadre — only this age relaxation.

Candidates who previously held a similar post at Bank of India are not eligible to reapply. You may apply for only one post in this notification — multiple applications retain only the latest valid one, and fees paid for the others are forfeited.

How Are Candidates Selected

Scrutiny of Eligibility: Based solely on the professional experience, mandatory certification, and education qualification documents uploaded at registration — no further document requests are entertained later.

Online Examination (if conducted): English Language (25 marks, qualifying only, doesn't count toward merit) and Professional Knowledge relevant to your specific post (100 marks), composite duration 100 minutes, available bilingually in English and Hindi except the English Language section. Minimum qualifying marks: 35% for General/EWS, with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD filling reserved vacancies. There's a penalty of ¼ mark per wrong answer.

Personal Interview: 100 marks. Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for General/EWS, 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD (where vacancies are reserved for that category). Candidates are called at roughly 1:3 ratio to vacancies, at the Bank's discretion.

Final Merit List: If both stages are held, weighted 60:40 (Online Exam:Interview), built in descending order category-wise; ties break first on higher online-exam score, then on Date of Birth (older candidate ranked higher). If the Bank skips the online exam entirely, selection runs on Interview marks alone.

The online exam will tentatively be held across 30 states/UTs at multiple centres each — no request for change of centre is entertained, and the Bank may allot you to a centre other than your preference.
